This banjo has a lot of power in its tone. Plenty of volume, and very full sounding. It features a 20-hole flathead tone ring, 24 brackets, and 4 thumbscrews to secure the resonator. Gibson branded armrest, Gibson clamshell tailpiece, original Gibson logo sealed gear tuners. There are some cosmetic scuffs on the surface on the instrument from normal use, but nothing that affects the tone or playability. Some light oxidation on the nickel plated hardware (it shined up very well with a quick polish). This one was constructed in 1980 and includes its original Gibson case. The fingerboard and frets are in great shape; the banjo plays very well. The binding is aged but still intact. We gave it a full setup and a fresh set of strings. It weighs just under 12 pounds (normal for a resonator).
