Brian Norton - Musician, Manager, and Industry Professional
From the moment he picked up his first guitar at eight years old, Brian was hooked on music. A
self-taught guitarist, he poured himself into learning the instrument, a passion that only
deepened when a football injury at 15 led him to form his first band. By 16, he was already
gigging, playing guitar, bass, and doing vocals across various rock and metal genres.
Over the years, his bands shared the stage with acts like A Day to Remember, Escape the Fate,
Pierce The Veil, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, The Word Alive, I the Breather, Like
Moths To Flames, Kublai Khan, It Prevails, and The Bled. In addition to band performances, he
also pursued solo acoustic gigs, showcasing his versatility as a musician.
Beyond music, Brian pursued education in multiple fields, earning a certificate in Automotive
Collision Repair and Refinishing from WATC, an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Butler
County Community College, and later studying Business Administration with a minor in
Management at Wichita State University.
In April of 2010, he joined Damm Music Center as a part-time sales associate. His dedication,
problem-solving skills, and customer-first approach quickly earned him a full-time role, and over
time, he worked his way up to store manager. With years of experience in both music and
business, he thrives on thinking outside the box, helping customers find the perfect solutions,
and continuously expanding his industry knowledge.
