Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, and based in Wichita, Kansas, Hannah Kavanaugh is a woodwind specialist who seeks to enrich their performance repertoire with classical, contemporary, jazz, and popular music. They hold a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and Music Business from Capital University Conservatory of Music in Columbus, Ohio, a Master of Music in Flute Performance from Wichita State University, and a graduate certificate in Professional Studies in Saxophone/Clarinet Performance, also from WSU.
In the Wichita music scene, Hannah is a regular face in the Roxy's Downtown pit orchestra, Classical Revolution ICT's Bach & Brews performance series, the Wichita Wind Symphony flute section, the newly-formed Vespera Saxophone Quartet, and the Eclipse Wichita horn section. In the spring of 2025, they also had the honor of performing Cécile Chaminade's Concertino for Flute with the WSU Symphony Orchestra as a featured soloist and a winner of WSU's concerto competition.
Hannah is especially passionate about music education accessibility, regardless of age, instrument, or gender. In the past, they served as an intern for programs such as Columbus Jazz's Adult Community Jazz Band and the Youth Jazz Girls Project in Ohio, and formerly assisted with the Mid-Kansas Jazz Band and the Youth Symphony Orchestra here in Wichita.
Besides music, Hannah spends their free time drawing, writing, reading, playing video games, and spending time with their lovely partner, John Patton, who also works at Damm Music Center.
