Jared Hurn
Teaches Music Lessons For:
- Drum Sets
- Snare Drums
- Mallet Percussion (Bells, Marimba, etc.)
- Hand Percussion (Djembe, Congas, etc.)
Jared grew up in the Peoria, IL area and started playing percussion and drum set in the summer of 2011. Jared just graduated from Wichita State University in May 2023 with Bachelor's Degrees in Percussion Performance and Jazz Studies - Drum Set. At Wichita State, he has performed with Jazz Arts 1 and 2, Jazz Combo, Wind Ensemble, Impulse Percussion Group, Orchestra, and New World Ensemble. Outside of school, he has performed at venues such as Mort's, Moxies, Central Community Church, LifeChange Church, Wichita Bible Church, among other venues.
Jared has worked with various jazz, rock, and church, and classical groups, and has played steelpan, marching band, and percussion ensemble settings. He will be starting a Performance Certificate at WSU in the fall. Outside of music and school, Jared likes hanging with family and friends, reading, being outdoors, traveling, bowling, and playing games.
Jared is excited about sharing his knowledge & passion for music with his students at Damm Music Center.
