Looking for beginner music lessons for young kids in Wichita? Learning to Fly at Damm Music Center is a welcoming, beginner-friendly music program designed to help kids discover music, build confidence, and have fun, no experience needed!

What Is Learning to Fly?

Learning to Fly is the perfect first step for young students curious about music. This program combines weekly private lessons with a fun, age-appropriate group rehearsal. Students learn musical basics, explore different instruments, and build skills in rhythm, melody, and teamwork. Each session ends with a special performance where students get to show off what they’ve learned in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Program Features

Weekly Private Lessons – One-on-one attention to develop core musical skills on piano, guitar, bass, drums, or voice.
Group Rehearsals – Kids work together as a band, each working on their parts together.
Performance Opportunity – Students take part in a relaxed end-of-session showcase designed to boost confidence and celebrate progress.

This program gives kids the structure to learn and the freedom to have fun while discovering music with new friends.

Session Schedule

The Learning to Fly program is offered during all three of our seasonal sessions. Students can join at any time during the year.

Spring Session: January – May
Summer Session: June – August
Fall Session: September – December
